If you follow me on social media, you’ll see we’ve started our countdown for the release of My Image of You. Today is now 2 days away. When things start to get real. My publicist, assistant and I are double checking everything. I have faith in my team that everything will go as smoothly as it can. There are always hiccups that I know we will pick up and keep moving on.
But to be honest, I cannot help but be –
- and slightly nauseous.
But something magical happened this weekend that made things seem lighter. A bit brighter around the edges. A few giggles right when I needed it. I met a new fan which is ALWAYS awesome.
She is a fairly new blogger who loves Instagram. She signed up through InkslingerPR for the blog tour of My Image of You. But my assistant seems to like to pick up ‘strays’ (her words not mine) where she flits about social media. My assistant was chatting with Brittany about upcoming releases. One thing lead to another and Karen discovered that Brittany had not read The Contract. The shared PM running commentary on her reading of The Contract had me smiling for a few hours. And now, Brittany is onto reading My Image of You where she continues to lift my heart.
Although I can’t always interact directly with my fans as immediately as I’d like, this was perfectly timed. Like I said, with the week counting down for release day, those bullet points grow in strength. Whether it’s your first or your 6th novel, they are ever present. However, what this interaction did for me was to make me smile, and reminds me that my words do mean something to people. I found that small things I may have forgotten come back to me, and her reactions helps me to remember why I fell in love with the book myself in the first place.
With having the chance to share my stories and seeing how my words can affect another person is, and always will be, the most wonderful thing I ever experience.
Okay so here is where I sign off and probably will be scarce on my website. Jessica and Karen have my days filled on social media. I hope you’ll join me at One Click Addicts for my release day party. I have fabulous friends joining me and it should be a lot of fun. You’ll probably find me most active on my Facebook page so check there if you wonder where I’ll be next.
PS: Check out and give Brittany’s blog, Minor Details, a follow. She’s funny, genuine and loves a great angsty story. You can find her at:
